Hi everyone! It’s good to be back for another month of storytelling. It seems the adventures keep going, so it’s fun having more to tell.
First off, thanks to all that sent emails and texts regarding the status of my parents. I now know the correct pronouncement of their names are mommy and daddy. And to @ihatebabies2019 on Twitter, you can stop making fun of me about it now. The first 4 times were enough! Don’t push me, I’m getting into shape to take you on! Just look at these guns!
Since last we spoke, there was a big change in my daily life. And no, that particular diaper change was last month. This time, mommy and daddy changed roles taking care of me. Mommy had to go back to this place called ‘work’. I’m not really sure what this ‘work’ thing is, but they keep going to it. Maybe one day I’ll find out what it is, but until then I’m good staying at home watching my daytime stories.
While mommy was home with me all day mommy took great care of me. We’d play, I’d poop, we’d sleep, and she even took me places. Now, daddy is staying at home. He’s a lot of fun too. He can hold me really high up, though I don’t think he appreciates me drooling on him from that height. I’ve been home with him for a few weeks now and I really think he’s doing a good job taking care of me.
I got to do this fun thing and go to a store called Buy Buy Baby. Now when I was first told I was going there I started having real separation anxiety. Then I realized how they spelled it so that made it OK. This place was amazing! They had EVERYTHING a baby needs. Sadly I left my wallet at home, but mommy and daddy picked up the bill for me. I went easy on them, but I can’t promise the same in the future…
The next thing I learned is a very important date in May. It speaks to a generation of people that believe in something far bigger than themselves. These people consider this a holiday, and I can see why. It was a fun day to celebrate and really learn the culture of this day. I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about. May the 4th! Daddy and I even get to dress up for it!
And just when I thought there’d be time to relax, then came this other special day. There is a day for mommies to get together and celebrate, well, being mommies. They call this day, and get ready for this because it will blow your mind, Mother’s Day! Wow, Don Draper would be so proud of the marketing department that came up with that gem!
Any-hoo, back on topic. This was my mommies 1st Mother’s Day. I tried to make it special by not fussing too much and to let the day be about her. She deserves at least one now and then. We went to a party at my GiGi and Pop Pop’s house. There were a lot of families there, some of them were mommies too. How fun, there are others! They should be a club or something. Daddy and I even went shopping to get her something special. It took a while for me to decide, mostly because I’m not tall enough to see what’s on display, but we got her a shiny thing she can wear around her wrist. The nice lady that sold it to us told me we are going to put my birthstone in it. I’m not even sure what that is but as long as it didn’t involve surgery then I’m good with it.
My mommy does so well making me feel loved, I hope they give her this day every year! I mean just look at her, she makes me look good 🙂
In the coming month, there will be more exciting stories to tell. But for now my friends, I want to leave you with a personal message. What I have to say here is a labor of love, and just know that yes, I am talking about you. Thank you for being here and I’ll be back soon.
