“To all who come to this happy Blog, welcome!” – Alan Betz 2019
Hi again everyone!
Life has been 50 shades of crazy my friends. There is so much that has gone on in the past months that I have to interrupt my regularly scheduled blogs just to fit this in. I think this is worth its own blog post though, this is a very special moment in my life.
OK, so there’s this place. Some of you have heard of it, some of you have visited it, others just wonder what it would be like to go. For me, this place is about as nuts as it can get for a 7-month-old.
My parents love this place. I guess when you get married you celebrate this thing every year they kept calling an avinersary, or was it abisary, maybe it was annibersity…….good grief, they’ve been married for 6 years!! For this ‘married for 6 years’ thing they decided they wanted to take me to their favorite place. That’s quite an honor, having them spend their special day with me. So my fellow readers, without further adieu, I give you, my first adventure to Disneyland!
Being a 7 month old does have its disadvantages, mostly the amount of time I can last at the park before I go on full meltdown. So I wanted to make sure I got the best out of my first trip there. And what better way to start than with my fashion!
I mean come on, you HAVE to get the Mickey hat for your first trip to this park. Plus, I’m not paying for it so it’s a win-win! Besides, how cute do I look? Not to brag, but even I love this photo 🙂
Turns out, there’s not a whole lot I can ride at this point. Plus with the limited amount of time there I really had to decide what to do. Without hesitation, I wanted to be taken to the big place that has boats! I wanted to go on a boat!! I saw there was this big place with lots of moving stuff on the outside that has boats, so I was sold!
Ah, there it is 🙂 Look at it, this thing has all kinds of stuff going on. Moving parts, things that make noise, this is totally in my wheelhouse! I can’t wait to get on the boat and go around it.
Here we are, just chilling on a boat with my mom and dad. How nice is this, nothing to do but sail away and…….
Hey wait a second, this thing is going indoors. NO, no no no no. I’m sorry, have you SEEN Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?? I don’t want to be taken on some crazy 60’s acid trip boat ride! I started to hear music and all I could think was “There’s no earthly way of knowing, which direction we are going…….”
However, as the ride went on I was overwhelmed by this sense of calm and euphoria. The music was soothing, the dancing people from all over the world were everywhere, and I really started to realize just how small of a world it really is.
As the ride went on, so did the song. It sucked me in like a Hoover, giving me no choice but to bask in its glory. All I could do was stare as I learned about a world of laughter, a world or tears….. I can’t wait to go on this ride again, and again, and….well you get it.
Now, being my first time at the park, I had to meet the Mouse himself. I have taken many photos with him in my crib, but I was told that I was going to get to meet the real him! I didn’t even know that was a thing!!!
Like any good host, he makes you go through his entire house and wait around 45 minutes until you actually get to see him. That’s pretty typical when you visit someone, right? By the time I got close you can see how totally stoked I was to spend time with him.
Finally like cattle, we’re ushered into the room where it happens. There were a couple of other families ahead of us so we let them have their moment of glory. Then it was time. Let me ask you someting…..have you ever met a favorite celebrity of yours? You have so little time with them it’s hard to know what to say or do. So, when meeting Mickey Mouse for the first time it went a little like this:
After the nerves settled I really had a good meeting with him. We talked about life, love, politics, and all-around had a great conversation. There was just one thing I couldn’t get past. That nose……….
Haha ha, I touched Mickey’s nose. I am immortalized into the Mickey Mouse Club of nose grabbers! And I’m not even ashamed. I don’t even think Klinger from MASH had a nose this important to the world of nose awareness!
It’s just so……..I mean it’s……..I love that nose! I can’t wait to go back again! I hope Mickey remembers our moment together and the bond we shared. Nobody knows the nose that I love to knows. Thanks, Mickey!!
Well, my friends, it’s time to call it a Disney day. I’m so thankful my parents decided to take their 6-year annigers, I mean annodartary, or is it annib…..ugh….their 6 year marriage day and celebrate it with me! I’ll be back to this magical place soon, and will have so many more adventures to tell.
Until then, I will be back soon with what else I’ve been up to. I really do thank you all for being here and reading about my adventures, it warms my heart knowing you like what I do. Until next time, thanks for being here <3
